Staying at the Footbridge Beach Motel in Ogunquit, Maine

You’ll find that the Footbridge Beach Motel in Ogunquit, Maine has many repeat customers, and there’s a great reason for that. I’ve stayed there several times myself, and look forward to returning again this summer. And this was BEFORE the rooms at the motel were renovated. I think that speaks volumes about the owners, Megan and Taylor Duffy. They’ve owned the motel for 9 years, and have made it one of the most welcoming places to stay in Ogunquit.

If you’re looking for a great value, you really need to look no further. The rooms are very affordably priced, in an area where room rates can soar during peak season. In the past I’ve stayed at the motel with a friend in a double room and I’ve also traveled solo and found myself in a king sized bedroom. I always believed that I was getting a good deal, and then some.

One of the things that I truly appreciate about staying at the Footbridge Beach Motel is the fact that I can WALK to my favorite beach in Ogunquit. The Footbridge Beach is no more than a 5-10 minute walk down Ocean Street. Leave your car at the motel, pack up your gear, and enjoy a leisurely stroll down the street. You’ll save $20 in parking fees. Who wouldn’t want an extra $20 bucks in their pocket?

All the rooms at the motel have been recently renovated. When I stopped by recently to take some pictures of the new updates, Megan shared with me that the renovations were definitely a process over the 9 years that they’ve owned the motel. She carefully listened to comments from her guests, and incorporated those thoughts into how the motel was improved.

Everything is fresh looking and clean. Walking into the room, you’ll instantly smell the cleanliness of it. That was the very first thing that I noticed. Then as my eyes swept across the room, I noticed the brightness of the new paint. It’s amazing how something as small as a paint color change can really liven up the room. There are new beds and bedding, lighting, curtains, carpeting and a flat screen television.

The bathrooms also have been renovated, and I’d have to say that they’ve done a fantastic job! I’m very particular about a clean and inviting bathroom wherever I stay. I especially loved the dark wood looking flooring that they used. It contrasts nicely with the light colored bathrooms and screams beachy to me!

Additionally, I found the mini fridge and microwave a huge plus. They are in every room, and certainly are put to good use keeping your beverages cold and for warming up your leftovers for a midnight snack.

The pool area is clean and inviting, with plenty of lounge chairs to soak up the sun. The pool is heated, which is a huge added bonus. I’ve swam in it several times when the weather was less than inviting, but the warmth of the water made it bearable. Next to the pool is an outdoor area with tables and grills for your use. It’s great if you want to barbecue and relax with friends rather than visit a restaurant. Megan’s got some grilling utensils for you to borrow, you just need to stop by the office and ask.
